King Benj-I, Music Creator Rhythm Guitarist, writer recording artist & performer started his musical journey in Kingston, Jamaica. By his early twenties, King Benj-I had become a well respected recording artist Worldwide. In his early years he worked with well known producers such as: Henry'Junjo'Laws, Raymond Smith, Jo Jo, Whittey and bands such as Revolution, Roots Radics, High Times & Black Culture. Recorded for Legendary recording studios in Jamaica, Channel One , studio One, Harry J, & Youthman Promotions.King Benj-I started his own recording label “Solid Rock” in JA with Raymond Smith that produced his first Classic hit single “Crazy Lover”. A personal friend of Bob Marley, Gregory Isaacs, John Holt, Tinga Stuart,Latty Guzang, Errol Dunkley, Josey Wales, Papa Toyan, Lee Van Cliff, Israel Vibration, Dennis Brown, Sanchez, Bunny Maloney, Teddy Brown, Val (Bass) Douglas, Johnny Bull, Sister Carol, The Cables, The Melodians, Sugar Minott,Derick Hinds, Tony Greene, Frankie Paul, and Denroy Morgan, Reggae Giants whom he grew up and worked with.His works and successes have earned him the right to be among the Reggae Greats. In ‘84, King Benj-I left Jamaica for the United States, to conduct a world tour starting in the US for his hit single “Crazy Lover” with Roots Radics Band, where they played several states in the Carribean and USRead article in the Reggae Report from 1995-1999, and his review in Dub Missive earned him the title “A New King Has Been Crowned" 1998 & 1999 issues, Beat Magazine 2000 & 2001 issues, Jamaica Star, April 2002 issue.. Home News Tribune Sept. 2004 issue.. Caribbean Life, May 2006 issue.. The Cover of IView Magazine April 2008 issue..He has also had star billing with R & B Legends Ray, Goodman & Brown. First Reggae Artist to headline along with Positive Power Band, Rock & Rolls best, NJ’s own Bruce Springsteen at the legendary Stone Pony in Asbury Park NJ.Performed at the Gorden State Art Center , Rap Group Dalasoul, R&B Group Moments, Sister of the Callabash Poet Amiri Barack , and the group sweet honey on the rocks, Rapper, Actress Queen Latefa, several African American Festivals, and colleges throughout the US. King went on to release albums such as Reggae Girl, Outrage and Racial Profiling and Musical Revelation. His new works are ready for release.His remarkable stlye and upbeat rhythm differentiate him from many others as he rides on any rhythm. He has shown remarkable flexibility with a unique sound on many of his rhythm tracks.His outlook on life and his concern about derogatory lyrics, influence progressive people as they give him Nuff respect.
