About Me

Ribzy had a very successful 2006, tons of shows, a 30 song CD release, and we recorded new tracks for a
7" due out Aug 1 '07 on Vinehell Records
Please come check out our shows with Verbal Abuse in Oregon and California this August, it may be our last gasp (again) for awhile!
UPDATE:
The shows went great, and the record is OUT!

Go to our label site if interested:
www.vinehell.com Also: If you get a chance to see Verbal Abuse in action, do yourself a favor and go!
We may be on break, but they continue to rule

What other say about Ribzy:
(for full text of reviews, see Ribzy Discography in myspace blogs)
"... Absolutely sick, raw hardcore punk ...absolutely fantastic stuff and that's the creativity and rawness that excites me deep, deep down."
-No Front Teeth Magazine, United Kingdom, 2006
"... Combining the gritty assault of early Teen Idles/Minor Threat with the aggression of early Black Flag and the inventiveness of Flipper...in other words the real thing."
- Sean McGhee~Punk & Oi in the Uk, 2006
" ...a musical lesson (of early punk) in it's purest form. A treasure for fans of true punk everywhere."
- Larry Trujillo , Zero Magazine Sept. 2006
" Snarly skate punk that was certainly influenced by Black Flag ... adolescent snot 'n rant.. Standard west coast punk...and that's meant in a positive sense."
- Al , Peabody, MA ~ Suburban Voice Online
"(a) scrappy hardcore band with oodles of charm, they apparently progressed over the course of their career... Good to see these kids get their due."
–Jimmy Alvarado , 2006 Razorcake Mag
"... (they) helped embody the '80s Hardcore movement through their own rendition of gritty punk angst and bottled-up-rage....enough intensity to allow the band's music stand the test of time."
-(CD)Manic, 2007, underthevolcanoe.net
"Great gnarly vocals in the tradition of 60's punk and Darby Crash."
-The late, great Tim Yohannon, MRR 1982
"Furious short Songs, times reminding of D.R.I. (and) songs of the early ADOLESCENTS"
-Ox Fanzine, Germany 2006
"... first stage raw USHC which dries hotly it is good!"
-Nat Records, Tokyo 2006
"Hey Greg, where's the girls?"
-Jello Biafra, 1983,after seeing Kat and Sharon were replaced by Biff and Jamie, before a Dead Kennedy's/Ribzy show at the Keystone Berkeley.
"Thanx for the Ribzy toons.....it's going to have to wait for quite awhile because we are way backed up on projects.... "
-Jello Biafra, 2006, who still missed the girls, but understood why after 25 years we couldn't "wait for quite awhile"
"...the level of talented songwriting and performance that made listening to all the crappy early 80s hardcore bands worthwhile"
-Erik, of Rebel Truth, 2006
"...like the Germs on speed. "
-Dead Beat Records, 2006
Note:
We seldom request friends , and usually send a personal comment to all those who request us, but if your site takes forever to download, you will not receive a comment, but we still like you
(Up here in the Santa Cruz moutains, there are very few high speed choices, so this site is being maintained on a dial up server).
