About Me

ISHOO 4 (Winter 2007)
18/1/08

Right now we've got only three copies left, then consider us out of stock until further notice - we'll probably be doing another couple of runs at the beginning of February (as then we'll be more moneyed) to make the total Winter Edition printing 200, which will be the most out of any issue so far! We're then thinking of becoming a webzine, due to mine and David's increasingly busy lives.
What you get with Punk or Nothing Winter Edition (aka, issue 4) is loads of UK punk rock news, including:
- a very short but highly amusing set of questions and audacious answers with Pickled Jhon (of Pickled Dick - oh, and yeah, despite the error made on the front cover, that IS how you spell his name)
- an interview with the Derby power pop legend that is Joe Atom (Of? Yep! The Atoms)
- an interview with John from the intense Norwich hardcore band, Visual Offence
- a free CD featuring the great Nottingham pop-punk band, the Rutherfords!
Order via paypal. Only £2, which covers everything - the zine itself, the postage and the envelope from which you'll be fiercely tearing it from!
You can now buy from Punk or Nothing by clicking the above 'buy now' paypal button. To snail-mail money (US - NOTES ONLY, 5 bucks for any 2 issues - sorry!), send your dough (including issue, quantity, and address, of course) to the address further down.
"IRRESISTIBLY DISPOSABLE"...
So, what on god's green earth is Punk or Nothing, anyway? It's a co-written punk rock fanzine between by my good friend David and I. Emily Smalley (my girlfriend) inadvertently inspired the name, by the way... if you even care to know such trivialities.
- Richard Allsop
(The Editor)
THE STORY SO FAR...
Since May 2007, we've self-published interviews with faces such as Ray Carlisle of Teenage Bottlerocket, Grath Madden from the Steinways, Kurt Baker of The Leftovers and Ben Weasel. As we became more and more immersed in our own UK scene, we decided to split the zine down the middle and devote it not only to what's brewing in the US, but also to documenting groups/events closer to home. We want to develop this project from its inital inception and integrity to eventually become something potentially appreciated by punks the world over. We want to prolong retaining a small part of our original element of universal appeal for as long as we might last. We want punk rock scenes from far and wide to be able to relate to this rag.
WITH THOSE THINGS SAID...
Doing a zine is like taking a huge shit in most ways - it's time-consuming and sometimes painful, but when you're finished you're relieved because all the crap has left your system.
... SO WE SAY : GET INVOLVED OR GO TO HELL!!!!
Our rule: no rules. Anyone willing to participate is a hundred percent welcome to write for us - we're always on the look-out for new writers to report the scene: review local gigs, interview local bands, review records... or just ramble and rant Chuck Roast (see: Scene Not Herd zine) style. The only thing we ask in return for letting you write is you spread the PUNK OR NOTHING germ!
CONSIDERING DISTRO'ING PUNK OR NOTHING ?
WELL, THEN YOU'RE A DAMN FOOL!

All jokes aside, drop us a line at [email protected] and demand a sample copy!
No phonies or freeloaders, please.
