Aquarius is only a period of time, but the symbolism, of either the lady decanting SOUND waves from an urn, or , of the wavy line super-posed above the straight line, refers to the etheriality of the age..................................According to at least one eschatologically numerological scholar ( of biblical texts) the symbology of the fish in Pisces really referred to the simplest nearly- accurate means of squaring the circle- taking two equal circles and drawing the second so its circumference passed through the centre of the first, then using the line between the intersections as the side of the square to be made. The fish resembles the intermediate or overlapping part of the circles. The scholar believed that this message was secret, to avoid the barbarian militarists from abusing it and other hieratic intelligences, like with the Parables....................................................
........................................Aquarius is pretty much all things digital or based on waves, that is oscillation, or as in the digital, on- and off-, and we are all living in the transition caused by this 'understanding' or use of such wave values. What began with Edison and Marconi, and the guys they took their advances from, that is telegraphy, radio telephonics grew into television, faxes, PC's, mobiles, Audio processing etc ............................................................
................I mention it because this page derives from that, via the simplest form of wave, assumed to be water poured from an urn, rather than air- the drum........................................................
..............As a percussion inventor using real world materials, wood, to create instruments, I know that drums are most easily tunable with water. That is that by pouring water INSIDE a drum, and leaving a relatively small amount of it in there for a short time, and then, exactly as in the symbolism, pouring it from the effective 'urn', the wood absorbs the mass of the water into its cells, expands, and so tightens the skin. This is the least controllable but quite sure method of tightening a drum, but can also detsroy both the wood and the skin if left too full or too long. I don't advise it. However in Africa, apparently certain royalty had appointed female drum attendants feeding milk to drums, and I imagine they both massaged the skins and gave the insides to drink, thereby in the same way preventing the wood-mass body shrinkage, and de-tuning of the drums.......................................................
...........................................At any rate, the drum is, as little children quickly learn, the most effective communicator: I believe the drum to be therefore the symbol of Aquarius, instead of the Urn, and just as in nearly all music drums play a part, so the massive spread of music through radio and all inventions since makes of drums the essential 'font' of 'baptism' into the New Age.........................................................

H- AND , what is Aquarius FOR: all I ever read, in '76, about that was I a little book, belonging to (german India head) Mali ( 'the gardener') purporting to be The Aquarian Gospel of Jesus Christ, based on a hidden text in Rome, and supposedly written by the Virgin Mary , of what He revealed to her alone, as even his Apostles were un-ready for the news. It dealt with His wanderings in India and his healing ministry in Palestine. Anyway, the New Age, according to this would see the final re-joining of all the living things that had been separated for an Aeon: the fishes, the birds, the insects, the animals, the plants and mankind, who would rejoin with the Seraphim and Cherubim AND the Earth herself, who is a living spirit.
