found this fantasy layout at HOT FreeLayouts.com :: MyHotComments The Plattekill Public Library is a part of the Mid Hudson Library System, which serves libraries in Columbia, Dutchess, Greene, Putnam, and Ulster Counties. The school closed its doors in 1972, and we then became a reading center. The library officially came into existence in the 80's and we became public in 2002.Our Library Hours are Mondays and Fridays, 1-6 pm. Tuesdays,1-8 pm. Wednesdays and Thursdays 10am-8pm, and Saturdays from 10am to 3pm. We are closed on Sundays. Our regular events: Teen video games from 3-5 pm, monthly evening readalouds, and storyhours on Wednesday/Thursday mornings (Fabulous volunteer opportunity if you're off from school!)

My Interests

We have lots of interests! Kids, Teens, Adults....we have something for everybody.To find something in our catalog that you may be interested in, go to http://plattekill.lib.ny.us and click on "catalog" to bring up the Mid Hudson Library System's Online Catalog.One of our interests is anime. We have several anime videos : Yu-Gi Oh! volume 9 Champion vs. Creator, Yu-Gi-Oh! Battle City Duels. Friends ' til the end, Dragon Ball Z : Fusion; Hope returns, Dragon Ball Z : the movie, Dragon Ball Z : Broly, Hand Maid May : Maid to order, The Animatrix, Sailor Moon Super S : Tv Series, vol. 1, Sailor Moon S : The movie, and Sailor Moon SuperS : the eclipse.

Music:

Come on in for our selection of music CDs. We have over 300 of them now. Movies:

We have lots of movies! We carry both DVD and VHS formats; children's and adult movies. (Adult as in, not children's. NOT ADULT.) :-)Some more recent and popular movies include : The Harry Potter Series, the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Mean Girls, 13 going on 30, the Princess Diaries Movies, Super Size Me, Bring it on, Ice Princess, Rent, Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants, the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, the Devil Wears Prada, Casino Royale, and Rent.

Television:

Turn off the tv and read a book. Just Kidding! We have a variety of tv shows on DVD : Law & Order : SVU, V, Sex and the City, the Sopranos, Alias, Without a Trace, Lost, Friends, CSI (Original), In living color, Saturday Night Live, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Firefly, Family Guy, Upstairs/Downstairs, Star Trek : The complete Original series, Cops : In hot pursuit, Cops : Caught in the act, and various Simpsons DVDs and videos.

Books:

We have lots of books! I specialize in the Teen Lit area. A few of the great authors that we have here are Terry Trueman, E. Lockhart, Todd Strasser, Gary Paulsen, Sonya Sones, Mike Lupica, Brian K. Vaughan, Stephanie Meyer, Libba Bray, Chris Crutcher, and many, many more.

Heroes:

We have many heroes in our graphic novels section. We just had a bunch of Dragon Ball Z come in, through vol. 26! We also have series such as Y : the last man, Ex Machina, and Runaways by Brian K. Vaughan.

Plattekill Library has gone next gen

The Plattekill Library now has a Nintendo Wii.  Our plans for this are to use this for the seniors by playing Wii Sports (bowling, etc.).  I just tried it out, and got a bowling score of 11...
