Provoking the Imagination

About Me

"Scott Foley is a hotspot in a generation of young authors intent on looking at the world with fresh eyes. Yes, every generation claims its share of shooting stars, but Foley brings with him the additional weaponry of wisdom, along with his writing skills. Methinks this star may be on the rise."
~Ken Bradbury, author of homerville

"In Souls Triumphant students find a novel they are able to understand, they can identify readily with the characters, and they are encouraged to exercise their imaginations. All of these features yield students who want to discuss all aspects of the book and dig for its applications to their own lives. 'Theme' suddenly becomes relevant to their own lives, not just an idea that represents thinking of another age and time, even though it may also be universal in nature."
~Randal Reichert, Adjunct Instructor of English, LLCC
"Scott William Foley has penned a one of a kind novel [Souls Triumphant], where the characters, while interacting within a fantasy world, could not be more real. Questions of spirituality, ethics and morals are presented through detailed plot lines that could easily be woven into the fabric of our daily lives. Foley has delivered a well constructed novel that combines interesting characters, intriguing dialogue and explosive moral conflicts. This rare mix, will undoubtedly place Foley on the favorites list of many readers."

I’m a fiction writer who enjoys writing in a variety of genres. In my books you are likely to read horror stories, inspirational stories, science fiction, fantasy, slice-of-life-vignettes focusing on family, love stories, as well as action/adventure. However, always present in my works are characters with heart and soul, and all of my tales are rooted in reality no matter how fantastic their premises may seem. With every story I write it is my goal to excite you and to provoke your imagination.

I've recently been accepted into the Amazon Shorts program. This is an initiative through Amazon.com where the reader can download an author's work for only $00.49. Amazon.com will store the story for you in a digital locker, email it to you in the body of an email, and also email it to you as a PDF.
My first story is called "Dr. Nekros: The Tragedian." Dr. Nekros is the lead character in a serialized storyline who is a ghost hunter pursuing the demon that disfigured him, all while trying to avoid his ex-wife. Check it out by clicking on the link:
Dr. Nekros: The Tragedian (Volume I, Episode I)
The next installment of my Dr. Nekros series has been released though the Amazon Shorts program, and it’s called "Dr. Nekros: Phantasms and Chicanery." Dr. Nekros surprises his ex-wife, Zetta, with a phone call requesting help on what he says is an authentic haunting. With the support of her loving husband, Jason, she takes her video equipment and convenes with Dr. Nekros. But after spending the night on a loveseat with her former spouse and dreaming of the night he first came home after the demon Xaphan brutalized him, she doesn’t know what to believe about the haunting, her ex-husband, or herself. Read it by clicking on the link:

Worlds where an old woman is left a fallen soldier's medals of distinction for reasons she doesn't understand; worlds where a cold-blooded killer vows to return from the dead and finish what he started; worlds where proposing to a girlfriend becomes a comedy of errors; worlds where a boy pays dearly for taking a dare to stay the night in a house no one would risk entering; worlds where a genetically-altered government agent, considered a hero by the people, is wanted for treason; worlds where a father loses touch with his son without caring to know why; worlds where a woman is bestowed the honor of destroying an unaware planet, but must choose if she will follow through with her duty; worlds where one word scribbled on a wall can change a person's life forever, if one is willing to see it; worlds where a stranger's random phone call renews faith.
