The Boy Who Spoke Clouds

Why DO people cough so much at concerts?

About Me

The Boy Who Spoke Clouds began as the solo project of Adam Casey, guitarist and singer of the now defunct Seascapes of the Interior. Slowly it has evolved in various formats, currently a 3 piece.
The Boy Who Spoke Clouds, featuring acoustic guitar, banjo, piano, melodica, violin, drum-kit and etheric vocal harmonies, explores the full dynamic range of acoustic instrumentation, proving that a band can sound large and harrowing without amplification. The ensemble engages in the pummelling sound of artists such as the Swans and Godflesh, but take this sound outside of the amplified arena and attempt to achieve the same fullness with acoustic instruments. The ensemble simultaneously embraces the delicacy and sparsity of devotional classical music, conjuring artists such as Popol Vuh, Henryk Górecki and Arvo Pärt. The combination of these disparate musical traditions is unexpected, yet somehow, the sounds unite into a glorious whole, taking the audience on a dark journey into the human condition.
A debut album from The Boy Who Spoke Clouds has now been completed and will be released soon. There is also an EP/storybook coming out soon featuring the wonderful artwork of Jenny Oakley (www.emptyvesselart.com).

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: theboywhospokeclouds.info
Band Members: The Boy Who Spoke Clouds is:

Adam Casey (guitar, voice, banjo, programming, found sounds)

Jenny Jo Oakley (piano, voice, melodica, clarinet, guitar, visit our other project at ww.myspace.com/emptyvesselartmusic)

Justin Rhodes (drums, also drums with these guys: http://www.myspace.com/dominaeon).

We are currently on the lookout for a fourth member who plays a stringed instrument to play more decorative parts (fill in spaces and make some noise!): they could play any number of instruments that could work, i.e., violin, guitar (electric and/or acoustic), hammered dulcimer or even something as 'unstringlike' as the vibraphone or glockenspiel. Interested and live in the Melbourne/Geelong region? Then please send me an email: [email protected]
