About Me

HEART OF THE MOUNTAIN (music video: directed by Tom Flatman)
Owls of the Swamp is the solo music project of 25 year old Australian singer-songwriter, Peter Uhlenbruch. Blending ethereal melodies with organic instrumentation, Owls of the Swamp has performed his unique style of 'swamp-folk' all around the Melbourne music scene including venues such as Manchester Lane, the Espy, the Empress, Ding Dong, Bar Open, Ruby's Lounge, the Wesley Anne.
In mid 2006, Owls of the Swamp embarked on his first international tour performing over a six month period to new and receptive audiences in the UK, Germany, Netherlands, France and Iceland. Inspired by two life-changing trips to Iceland in the summer and winter, Owls of the Swamp returned home in late 2006 to record his critically acclaimed debut record Smoky Bay.
Through 2007, Owls of the Swamp has been performing regularly and promoting Smoky Bay. In August, he toured the East Coast of Australia with Tom Woodward (ACT) and good friend Svavar Knutur (Iceland) as part of the successful Misery and Redemption Tour.
Currently, Owls of the Swamp is working on a follow up release to Smoky Bay and planning to embark on a national Australian tour in early 2008 before heading back to Europe/Iceland for another overseas tour.
