Soteria Bell are the ethereal vocal duo Linda Laasi and Mia Shaw, both of whom have long and diverse musical backgrounds, joined on guitar by Simon Bailey (The Morning Birds, Gifthorse) harmonic overtone singer Dean Frenkel (Aajinta) and on bass by Anth Dymke (Gifthorse) also visit www.myspace.com/gifthorsebandoz
An ambient,atmospheric group, Soteria Bell perform music that is inspired by ancient & modern cultures, featuring shamanic style vocals, improvisations, and original songs that are evocative, haunting and compelling.
As well as contributing three songs to highly-acclaimed throat singer Dean Frenkel's album "Cosmosis" (www.myspace.com/deanfrenkel) Soteria Bell feature on the Aria Award winning soundtrack to Australian feature film 'Jindabyne" this was a collaboration with the legendary Paul Kelly and Dan Luscombe (The Drones)
'Jindabyne' was selected in the Directors's Fortnight at this years Cannes Film Festival, has also won international awards and is the long awaited follow-up film for director Ray Lawrence (Lantana) after the huge success of Lantana.
"New Home For Old Bones" also features on young award winning film-maker Gen Bailey's short film "Tiptoe" (genbailey.com)
Soteria Bell also feature on the track 'We Create Tomorrow' by Hugo Race & The True Spirit (www.helixed.net) this song will be on the True Spirit's upcoming album
The album launch will take place Sunday 24th February @ The Toff in Town, 8pm with guests, melbourne trio The Red Tree - (www.myspace.com/theredtree)
