HARMONIC VOCALIST & GUINNESS WORLD RECORD HOLDER

About Me

WELCOME to the wonderful vocal art of throat singing and the music of Dean Frenkel. Contact email address : [email protected]. Albums by Dean Frenkel: 'AMBIENT VOICE' and 'COSMOSIS', 'MAGIC SOUNDS' by Dean Frenkel & Linda Laasi, 'HARMONIC SPHERES by Aajinta, and '44 SUNSETS' by Soteria Bell. Harmonic singing / throat singing is an ancient and extraordinary practice. Exponents can sing multiple notes with their singular voice and sound like a range of intruments including picollo, didgeridoo and organ. Throat singing has been practised by indigenous cultures in Asia, Africa, PNG, Canada, Siberia and Europe for millennia, but it is endangered in its traditional grounds. Dean is a leading voice for harmonic singing / throat singing in Australia as a recording artist, performer and instructor. He is current Guinness record holder for the longest continuous vocal note - his record of 57 seconds, on ABC TV's Enough Rope with Andrew Denton, nearly doubled the previous world record of 29.03 seconds. AUTHOR - 'THE 8th NATURAL WONDER', 'THE ESSENTIAL MEDITATION GUIDE', 'THE SINGER'S MINIFESTO' 'THE ART OF BEING MASSAGED'. Dean Frenkel's new album MAGIC SOUNDS with ARIA award winning singer Linda Laasi is now available. Has performed at Womadelaide, with the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Choir concert, ANATS National Conference, the International Voice Symposium, 'Physics of the Didgeridoo' (1998-2007) at Melbourne University.
