Human voice is the only sound source for all the music you hear in these samples.
Through overtone singing, Spectral Voices improvise music of subtle complexity and eerie beauty. Overtone singing enables one to sing 2 or more notes at once (aka throat singing). We sing within reverberant spaces to use them as an instrument, interacting with their distinctive acoustics.
We recorded and sang in a vast water tower for 3 years.
3 group CDs have emerged from this process: "Coalescence," "Sky" and "Innertones" (2007).
