About Me

Empty Vessel Music took its first trembling breath in Seattle, 2005. It was born as the experimental project of Jenny Jo Oakley, and fed from inspirations of damp woods, winter rain and lovely and haunting piano melodies from gothic horror movies like The Haunting and The Yellow Wallpaper. Jenny began to record her playing on a beautiful and musty circa 1880 Kranich & Bach upright cabinet grand piano. Soon, more sounds infiltrated the melodies like travel recordings from ferries in Scotland, barking dogs and bad sunday morning infomercials about irritated bowel syndrome and exercise crazed gurus. Thus began Empty Vessel Music.2006 marked the addition of Adam Casey into Empty Vessel Music. Projects of Adam include the now defunct Australian band 'Seascapes of the Interior', and his current musical endeavor, the boy who spoke clouds, in which Jenny joined in October 2006, contributing with her piano playing, vocals and melodica.
