____________________________________________________________ ____ Bill Callas-The Silver Fox Crooner began singing at the ripe old age of 4. At the time, he did'nt know it was one of GODS gifts. Bill was the youngest of five children born from two of the most caring parents in the world. His father (Christ) was born in Lamia Greece in 1892. He came to the USA with his brother (Louie) at the age of 17. Bills Mother (Emma) was born in 1902 in the USA. Bills oldest sister was (Ruth), his second oldest was his sister (Angie), his third oldest was his brother (Paul), and his youngest sister was (Elizabeth). Bill, the last of the five was born on Columbus Day (Oct.12,1935) It was a tough time for his parents trying to make ends meet because it was during the Depression, but they gave their children all the Love they could in place of the material things they lacked.Bill, the Singer was a very shy young lad until the age of about 13. He was so shy, when friends wanted to hear him sing, he would sit on the first step of the basement stairs with the door closed and sing. His Idol at a young age was Vaughn Monroe and Nat King Cole. At age 13 he sang on the Radio in Cleveland, Ohio (where he was born) and for the first time in his life, he sang in front of an audience of 500. After that experience, he was never shy again.During Bills High School years, he sang in a couple talent shows on television, sang a good deal in High School and performed for various weddings, dances and even had a small band. In High School, Bill played football, ran track, and played sandlot baseball for 13 years until his body could'nt take any more abuse.Bill served in the US Army for 7 years, retired from Engineering, Surveying in 1997 and now resides in Conyers, Georgia. He has a Son (Gregg) a Daughter (Chris) and 3 Step children (Dorthey Jo--John & Floyd).It took all these years for Bill to realize that his singing was a gift from God and decided to allow everone a chance to hear his singing on his Music page.
