Venezuelan born Ernesto Ferro began playing guitar at the age of eleven. Despite the urging of his father, an Italian violinmaker, to pursue a classical music career, Ernesto rebelled by teaching himself to play the guitar. His association with several different bands began with his own band, ERA. He then progressed to join Krysthos. Later in 1983, he recorded his first album with the band Gillman.
Throughout the 1980's, Ernesto toured Venezuela as the opening act for REO Speed Wagon and Soda Stereo. The 90's brought international touring contracts and studio recordings in places such as New York, Washington DC, Boston, Florida, Italy, and Aruba.
After traveling abroad, Ernesto returned to Venezuela and formed the M. Blues Band. Since his final move to Aruba, Ernesto has been working in the local music circuit with his solo act which consists of everything from Latin and Jazz, to Rumba, Reggae, and Pop/Rock. While performing locally, Ernesto produced the first solo album to come out of his recording studio, Highway Star. He recently finished his second album and it will be available soon.
Ernesto Ferro's new 2007-cd work coming out "ALL DAY DREAMS," features Ernesto playing for the first time his home made guitar named by him - The Perfect Tone.I can say myself that the guitar I built really responds to my needs. I like to feel the instrument's life so i can feel alive when I play. The interaction between the guitar and I is like a communion. All the songs on "ALL DAY DREAMS" are composed by Ferro in the last two years. Ernesto's musical influences are reflected on this new cd-production, from Classic Rock to Flamenco and Classical Music.
