About Me

Welcome to the wonderful Jeff Moats music "myspace" page
Jeff Moats was a recognized name in the San Diego, CA restaurant circuit in the 1980's, when he performed regularly at the Hungry Hunter chain, and the Ivy Barn in Mission Valley. He also made appearances at the Bright Angel Lounge at the Grand Canyon in AZ.
Currently he is one half of the Jeff and Anne Show, but he also performs as a solo act at Festivals, Fairs, Folk Societies, and special programs.
..
This is a collection of photos from "yesterday".

With a voice reminiscent of the great Glenn Yarbrough, Art Garfunkel, and the late John Denver, Jeff Moats performs a wide assortment of songs appealing to a large audience.
An evening with Jeff includes many musical styles such as Folk, Country, Show Tunes, and Novelty songs, many of which are familiar to his audiences. It is not an uncommon occurence when his listeners feel moved to add their voices to his. Jeff's concerts are a nostalgic treat.
What has been said about Jeff Moats' music...
"I love your voice. You have quite a range, and you sound to me like a young Roy Orbison." Black Rose Acoustic Society fan
"Whatever he pulls from his songbag, Jeff has a unique knack for making his listeners feel at home, turning any venue into an intimate room."
I hope you enjoyed the music. Be sure to come back soon for new recordings!

BRAS 2008 Band Scramble Winners... The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly (we're not saying who is who: you decide!) Jeff Moats (middle), Lee Patterson (right), and Tony Piotti (left). Winnings were donated back to The Black Rose Acoustic Society.
Influences:
Jeff captures his audiences with tunes by The Weavers, Woody Guthrie, Rod McKuen, The "Big 4" of the Folk Era (The Kingston Trio, The Brothers Four, The Limelighters, and Peter, Paul & Mary), Bob Gibson and mentioned Glenn Yarbrough. His renditions of tunes from singer/songwriters including Bob Dylan and John Denver are widely praised. Jeff's repetoire also includes tunes from groups such as America, The Eagles and The Beatles.

Sounds Like:
A 60's & 70's review of freshly familiar tunes.

Jeff’s music would be best decribed as Americana, a blend of folk, country and rock, played in his unique contemporary style. The result is an entertaining show that engages listeners. He accompanies himself with style. Performing on the 6 & 12 String Guitars, the 5-String banjo, and the harmonica he provides a full sound that is unique and original.
