Worked with Sailor Jerry Collins of Hawaii, Don Ed Hardy, Jack Rudy, Bill Funk and many others.
Writer/photographer of two Schiffer books on Sailor Jerry's Acetate Tattoo Stencil designs, popular around the world and great resources for artists interested in old school tattoo designs. These are hand-cut by the American Master Himself (a sort of tattoo in plastic) and my two Schiffer books are meant to be catalogs for those stencils."

I'd like to meet:

Everyone! Especially, James Purefoy and Edward James Olmos. And all other open-minded, fun-loving yet serious collectors of tattoo. Whether you want a new tattoo, have bad tattoos you want fixed, or just want to add to an existing piece -- I specialize in cover-ups and repairs and work that is meaningful to your life's history.

Music:

Pretty much everything except angry rap. Crazeee about Rufus and Martha Wainwright, their parents (Kate MacGarrigle, Loudon Wainwright III and their aunt, Anna MacGarrigle) Leonard Cohen, Buddha Bar, Moby, The Gypsy Kings, all the Texas troubadors. Since I was at Monterey, anything from that era, really: Janis, Jimi, Otis. Currently in the CD player in rotation: Rufus Wainwright (Duh!), Buddha Bar, Flaming Lips, Billie Joe Shaver, Green Day, Bob Dylan, Tom Russell, Robert Earl Keene, Dale Watson, Modern Jazz Quartet. GAWD help me: learning to like House, Deep House, Shoegazer.

Movies:

GO SEE THE HOST!!! The best movie of the last year. Then, again, across the board. Anything except angry stupid car explosions and shoot-outs. (Except masterpieces like: True Romance, Goodfellas, Casino.) LOVE: ERASUREHEAD!!!, Treasure of the Sierre Madre, old Brando, Requiem for a Dream, Legend, Lord of the Ring trilogy, almost anything Japanese, now Chinese. Films that make me think and feel: Best films recently: Borat! (Sasha -- CALL ME!), Munich, Cars, Monster House, Crash, History of Violence, The Constant Gardener, Garden State, Paradise Now, The New York Dolls Movie, Dogville, The Cooler, Finding Nemo, House of Sand and Fog.

Television:

BATTLESTAR GALACTICA (reimagined) -- the best show ever on TV!. (Edward James Almos -- CALL ME!)
Adore: ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT, ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS and RENO 011! It seems everything good gets yanked. Do try to catch heady stuff like British TV, educational stuff like: POV, Independent Lens, Frontline, NOW, Nova. Like science channels. PBS rules!!!
Survivor, Rome (James Purefoy -- CALL ME!), Extras. Great older shows like Becker, Malcolm in the Middle and Roseanne. CBS Sunday Morning with Charles Osgood. TIVO The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Real Time with Bill Maher, Inside the Actor's Studio, My Name Is Earl, The Office. Like Letterman, don't like Leno. Also, Conan and the Simpsons are great. I consider the "News" pornography and refuse to spend one second watching any of it.

Books:

Anything. Just discovered Dorothy Allison. She wrote the books I was gonna! Oh well, now I just have to be that much better. All books are ways to travel through time and space. They are companions to give us new information. I especially love crafty writers who love their work: Tom Robbins, John Irving, Kurt Vonnegut, Richard Brannigan and especially the best of them all . . .Shakespeare.

Heroes:

Sailor Jerry Collins, of course, Zeke Owen, Bob Roberts, Jack Rudy, Bill Funk, Trevor Marshall, Mario Barth, Judy Parker, Horizakura, Juan Puente, Chris Cohn, Gary Kozmala, Noble . . . all the talented youngsters on my "Friends" list here. I learn so much from them. Tattoo artists who carry the flame of righteousness in this business. Firefighters, teachers, nurses and doctors . . . those who toil with improving our world. All the people who suffer incredible misfortunes and still find the hope and courage to rise up again the next day.
