About Me

I was born in Fish Creek NY, in 1957, with a hay bale in one hand, and a splitting maul in the other. At birth I wasn't supposed to survive, as I had serious breathing problems. My parent's took me to Hepburen Medical Cnt. and upon being dianoised with little chance of survival, my Dad insisted, I go to Canada, to have a second opinion.. A Canadian Dr. told my folks, not to get thier hopes up, and I was in an oxygen tent, for 48 hrs. The Drs. then told my folks, I was highly allergic to ANY form of milk, so I was put on soy-bean, juice, and against all odds, I lived. Altho as a child, I suffered from Asthma and extreme allergys, I went to work on my Dad's farm, and I got outta allot of nasty farm work due to my poor health. So I got to do all the cool stuff on a farm, like chop wood, drive tractors, and work on my Dad's Model T...When I was 12, I was putting up hay for the neighbors, and when we stored the last bale, in the huge old Barn, I slipped and fell, 25 ft. down a hay shoot... I rode my by-cycle home, and was reeling and rocking all the way. I went on my folks front porch, and covered up with a blanket, with the fear of God my Dad would find out, I was in a hay barn... ( something prohibited as of my Hay Fever)(ntm: it got me outta the hot sweaty work, my Dad and older brother were doing)... My Mom called for dinner, and I didn't show up... My sister Lizzy, found me on the porch with 2 black eyes, and 4 broken ribs, lying there with a massive concussion.... My bro-in -law showed up just in time, to take me at 120 mph back to old Hepburn Hospital... I was in a coma for 9 days, from the severe concussion.... Hence my second death experience, at age 12... I had a very normal upbringing, & recovered fully from that scrape. I even went on to out-grow Asthma, and allergys... Went on to trade school, and worked for "The Ogdensburg Bridge N Port Authority for 2 yrs. I later went on working for my brother James in his Construction buisiness, for 5 long yrs. As brothers come, and brothers go, we went our differant ways... I then became employed for Thurman Lumber Inc. and built just about every building, or worked in the construction phase in every aspect of the biggest saw mill in the county... After 4 yrs. of 4-10 hrs. days, I found the job too grueling, and became a self employed woodsman... My Dad's crew was responcible for clear cutting over 200 acres of pristene Forest on Fish Creek, for the state of New York.. I cut down trees larger in diameter than a Ford Pick up truck. (Virgin Oak,Beech,Red Maple, Yellow Maple, Hickory, Ash, Elm, and Yellow Birch and White) scaling over 200 ft tall..... I loved the thunderous sound a tree has, when it falls. But I was invetiably bummed out, knowing I was destroying, what never could be replaced. At least in my lifetime.... I then had a life as a self employed, woodsmand, and a drunk... I totalled more cars than most people own in they're life times. Ntm: was hospitalized twice, after rolling a Dodge Colt, end per end, 5 times, then striking a pole, nearly breaking my back... 19 days of tracktion, and 1000 pain pills later, I survived my 3rd near death experience.. After my yrs, of being the town drunk, and unreliable at best, I went to A.A. for 4 long yrs. Met my now wife, had two Childen... One lives in Chicago, and one lives at home... Both a pain in my ass, but I love them dearly. They saved my life... I went to work at a company called "American Computer Assembly" for 5 yrs. And after being caught by the head cheese for cheating on my Over-Time, I was fired... I haven't worked since. I've become a house husband, and bought a house. Keeping my family, and my house up has been a full time job ever since. ( aye if the job title house husband was good enough for John Lennon, it is good enough for me)///. Upon fixing a bad roof on my home, I fell 3 storys, and landed on a pile of crushed stone, rupturing 5 vertebre in my spine..( my 4th near death experience) It was a long recovery, and 10,000 Narcotic pain pills later, life went on. I became a Grand-father just 3 wks ago, and I look forward to being a full time Grand-dad, as soon as my #2 son, takes over the fort.
