Anyone named, married to, or playing with a Guthrie; Dan Stevens, Ed Gerhard, John Flynn, Gordon Titcomb, Rob McNurlin, Kitty West, Eliza Gilkyson, Jimmy LaFave, the Beatles, John Prine, Kris Kristofferson, the Burns Sisters, so many more, and I'm a very slow typist.....I just love music!
Little Big Man, Tom Jones, Alice's Restaurant, any Pink Panther movie with Peter Sellers, Far From the Madding Crowd, Schindler's List, A Hard Day's Night, The Russians Are Coming, The Russians Are Coming. I guess you can tell I haven't been to any recent movies. I should do something about that.......
Anything halfway intelligent that isn't a "reality show"--CSI, NCIS (all those initials!), Lost, Antique Road Show, any good concert on PBS, Digging for the Truth. I also have a weakness for those decorating shows on the Home & Garden Channel where they completely re-decorate a room on a budget of about $50, using "found" stuff like empty milk cartons and gum wrappers. You know what I mean.
So many books. So hard to choose. OK,out of the jillion or so books (10 bookcases!) I have in the house: The Once And Future King, Little Big Man (There it is again!), Tony Hillerman's mysteries (especially the earlier Jim Chee ones), The Tao of Pooh, the book I just finished reading--Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert, and the biography of Woody Guthrie by Joe Klein.
The Dalai Lama, Arlo Guthrie (he's more of a teacher, actually), my brother Warren, for chasing after Chris Linton, the local bully, after Chris pushed me face-first into a snowbank; Dan Stevens, for putting his music career in jeopardy and bravely going after the bees on my deck, continuing in his mission in spite of being attacked and wounded himself; my naturopath, for getting me healthy when my allergist couldn't; and my fellow survivors, who know who they are.....
