About Me

Born in Moscow in 1982, Daniel Garlitsky represents the third generation of a famous family of violinists and pedagogues.He began the violin in Moscow at the specialised “Gnessine” school in the class of his father Boris Garlitsky. Upon arriving in France, he continued his formation at the Lyon Conservatory as well as various musical academies and master classes.At the Higher National Academy of Music of Paris, Daniel Garlitsky studied violin with Boris Garlitsky and Igor Volochine, and chamber music with Pierre Laurent Aimard. After three years of studies, he obtained a first award as well as a special award.Daniel Garlitsky performed as soloist and chamber musician in Europe and Asia. Guest of numerous prestigious festivals (Radio France - Montpellier, Folle Journée de Nantes, Estate Musicale a Portogruaro), he appeared with acclaimed artists such as Augustin Dumay, Bruno Giuranna, Charles Neidich, and Oleg Maisenberg.In 2003, he was invited by Gidon Kremer to participate in the 22nd Festival of Lockenhaus (Austria). Daniel Garlitsky appears as a soloist with renowned orchestras in Europe and in Japan under such conductors as Michiyoshi Inoue and Vladimir Jurowski. Recently, he made his London debut with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment.During the 2006-2007 season, Daniel Garlitsky performed as a soloist and leader with the Kremerata Baltica chamber orchestra in major halls such as Zurich Tonhalle, Rudlfinum Prague and Berliner Philharmonie.
