From Co. Mayo in the west of Ireland, Sinéad attended the College of Music, Dublin studying voice & piano for 5 years before beginning her Bachelor of Music Degree (BMus) at the National University of Ireland Maynooth in 1997. During her years in Maynooth, Sinéad performed with several choral groups gaining experience in diverse genres from Chamber to Gospel. The highlight of this choral activity came when she was offered a place in Anúna in 1998 - Sinéad made her first appearance with the group in Sweden a month later.
Graduating from Maynooth in 2000, Sinéad continued her studies at the College of Music, studying voice, piano and pipe organ. She then went on to complete a Masters degree at University College Dublin (UCD) in 2003. Sinéad is now a Primary School teacher and enjoys teaching music privately in her spare time.
Since joining Anúna, Sinéad has performed with the group all over Europe and in the United States. She has taken part in numerous recordings and has been involved in several radio and television broadcasts. In early 2007, Sinéad was thrilled to take part in the recording of the TV special ''Celtic Origins'' which was produced in Cleveland for PBS, in association with Maryland Public Television, Elevation Group and Third Wave Productions. Following this, she joined the group on an extensive tour to promote ''Celtic Origins'' both in Borders stores and on PBS stations across the United States. She is currently on a 40 date tour with the ''Celtic Origins'' show in the US.
