Órfhlaith Flynn is a leading Irish soloist with the world renowned choral ensemble Anúna. Bringing a rock sensibility to the group, Órfhlaith performed with her own band playing rhythm and lead guitar for 6 years prior to joining and incidentally began her musical career, as most Irish musicians do, busking on the streets of Dublin! Orfhlaith was spotted by Anúna’s co-founder and co-Director John McGlynn who asked her to join and already a huge fan of Anúna it was an opportunity not to be missed.
Órfhlaith has toured extensively with Anúna and some highlights include traveling with the Irish President Mary McAleese to Argentina and Chile as part of Irelands State visit to South America. Other tours include North America, Canada, UK, Ireland and most of mainland Europe. Órfhlaith has also appeared as a soloist on numerous TV shows including Irelands premier Talk Show ‘The Late Late Show’ on RTE 1, ID on RTE 2, Ireland AM on TV3, BBC Songs of Praise, BBC Proms in the Park and Good Morning Atlanta.
In January 2007, Órfhlaith took part in the Anúna PBS TV Special ‘Celtic Origins’ filmed in association with Elevation Group, Maryland Public Television and Third Wave Productions. Órfhlaith has just completed a promotional tour of the US visiting 31 Borders Stores plus a 2 month concert tour nationwide as part of the Celtic Origins Tour.
Anúna have also completed a successful tour of Japan in December visiting Osaka and Tokyo as part of their Celtic Xmas Tour.Looking towards the future, Órfhlaith is currently writing for her debut solo album and information on Órfhlaith’s future projects will be updated accordingly so please check back for more!.
