I am here for Friends

About Me

Migrated south to escape northern winter. Found a new career as a Web designer, and couldn't be happier. My sons, Chris and Eric, live with me. (Not to mention Dexter, Ralph, Mystic and Legend - our cats!) They're my best friends. Life is good.

You Are a Visionary Soul
You are a curious person, always in a state of awareness.
Connected to all things spiritual, you are very connected to your soul.
You are wise and bright: able to reason and be reasonable.
Occasionally, you get quite depressed and have dark feelings.
You have great vision and can be very insightful.
In fact, you are often profound in a way that surprises yourself.
Visionary souls like you can be the best type of friend.
You are intuitive, understanding, sympathetic, and a good healer.
Souls you are most compatible with: Old Soul and Peacemaker Soul What Kind of Soul Are You?
If you are always truthful and do everything you do with love in the doing, give everything you have to every person you meet, you will always be safe and happy in your life. When asked, "You mean - give away everything you own to a stranger?" Yes - the only thing you truly own is love. When you give love you are literally giving everything you are and own.

You Are 83% American
You're as American as red meat and shooting ranges.
Tough and independent, you think big.
You love everything about the US, wrong or right.
And anyone who criticizes your home better not do it in front of you! How American Are You?

My Interests

Movies, music, reading, spectator sports, writing, Web design, My Web site

I'd like to meet:

Deirdre Shannon (again - of course!), Lisa Kelly (again - of course!), Amy Rivard (again - of course!), Lynn Hilary, Helen Kelly, Anna Nalick (again - of course!), Marina V (again - of course!), Angelina Jolie, Sarah McLachlan, Miranda Lambert, Alison Krauss, Loreena McKennitt, KT Tunstall, MoZella, Cindy Alexander, Luan Parle, Alex Sharpe, and all my friends from the Celtic Woman and Lisa Kelly forums!

Music:

Almost anything except rap. To my ears - music is to rap as art is to Etch-a-Sketch. (Apologies to those who enjoy rap!) Especially enjoy adult contemporary, bluegrass, classical, and Celtic/Gaelic folk.

Movies:

Too many to list. Love big-budget action/adventure/monster movies with great special effects (i.e. King Kong), or a really good romantic comedy (like Spanglish). And almost anything by Steven Spielberg.

Television:

Not much. NFL and major league baseball, HBO series, occasional movies on premium cable, history and science channels.

Books:

Wow. Where to start. Historical novels and biographies, sci-fi, horror, almost anything by Edgar Allen Poe, everything by Christopher Moore or Neil Gaiman, and the occasional spy and/or mystery novel. Avid reader!

Heroes:

Ham and cheese, or hot pastrami with spicy mustard. ;)

My Blog

Apology and explanation

I posted a blog in July of 2006 wherein I refuted John Donne's assertion that "no man is an island."  I stated that, in a very real sense, every man, woman and child on this planet is an island, ...

Observation

America's military can win wars.  We've done it in the past, and I have absolute confidence that we'll continue to do it in the future.  We've won fights in which we possessed overwhelming t...
