I am a singer/musician currently touring with an Irish folk group called "The High Kings". I have been publicly performing for just over twenty years. My first instrument was a vega five string banjo that my Father showed me how to play when I was about 10 years old, at 16 I started playing the Classical flute and at 17 took up the acoustic guitar, this was also around the time I started writing my own songs and was very influenced by "the Beatles" "Bob Dylan" and "Neil Young" my Friends Colm Power and David Doherty formed a folk/rock group called "Chicken Soup" when I was 19. Originally the line up was Colm and myself on guitars, he had bought an electric at that stage while I was still playing acoustic while David "Doc" Doherty played Drums, eventually I played Bass since we could'ent find anybody else to play it. To make a long story short we played a good few gigs got to play on T.V. and made about 3 demo tapes (bear in mind this is the early 90's) we did the whole "send you demo tape off to the big record company and become rich and famous as simple as that" thing, but nothing happened so eventually the band fizzled out, but who know someday? after that I got to tour with my Father, Bobby Clancy and my Uncle Paddy Clancy along with a good friend Eddie Dillon from Fairhaven MA. as "The Clancy Brothers and Eddie Dillon" for the next two years, until my Uncle Paddy passed away and then we continued as "The Clancys and Eddie Dillon" until my Father passed away. Now 6 years later I'm with "The High Kings".
