Born in Carmarthenshire, Wales, Katie Morgan is regarded as being one of the most talented flautists of her generation.
When a knee injury ended her dancing career at the age of 14, Katie embarked on what was the start of a very successful music career. Learning the piano at the age of 14, and flute at the age of 16; Katie achieved grade 8 distinction, within just six-and-a-half months of learning the flute. A few months later, she then achieved the Advanced Certificate, followed by the LRSM diploma.

She would then travel 120 miles for a 2-hour lesson with him. During this time, Katie was also flautist in the National Youth Orchestra of Wales.
Katie then won a place to study at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music, London, in affiliation with City University, where her teachers were Averil Williams and Katy Gainham. She majored in flute performance, along side musicological studies, and graduated with a BMus honours degree, with 1st class in Guildhall Flute Performance. Katie then continued her flute studies with the world-renown flautist, Paul Edmund-Davies (former principal flute of London Symphony Orchestra).
Katie has won 3rd place in the International Young Artist Competition, and is now undertaking her first recording project of music for flute and piano. She is also involved in the "Peace Mala" Concert, planned to be be performed in 2008, where she will be performing solo along side world famous musicians.
