GMT-Jazz

My name is Bijan Azadian and I live in Berlin, Germany. I am a pianist, composer and I also arrange music. I would like to introduce you to my band which is called “Greenwich Mean Time Jazzband”. The band usually performs my compositions which cannot really be placed into any particular style category. The songs are in different languages because I could not decide on a particular one to use throughout yet. Music doesn’t just speak one language but very many. The permanent section of this band is a trio: piano, stand-up bass and drums. A vocal part, of course, is added also. Often we also bring our guitarist Ben Aschenbach along. We are currently working on a Latin program with Cuban singer Pina Lopez. We have arranged, re-arranged and interpreted quite a few of the songs for this program that were originally written by someone else.
