Be patient when reading my profile as I'm a little dyslexic,So sometimes my typing gets a little jumbled,and thats an under statement. The only reason I'm here is to keep in contact with some of the most amazing people which i will do once i figure this blog thing out. Oh and i repair woodwind instruments but mainly flutes.With a mechanical background I came to the music instrument repair trade post middle age; Specialising in Flute repairs I have endeavoured to be the best flute repairer in Ulster if not the whole of Ireland and with the endorsement of Colin Fleming, principal flute and section leader of THE ULSTER ORCHESTRA and British Flute Maker William Simmons I feel I have achieved this.Trained by Willy Simmons in Liverpool there is no one I have more respect for. A very patient and gracious man a real engineering genius, one of the Best Head Joint Makers in the world!Although most of my work is on student flutes, I regularly repair professional flutes such as Brannen Cooper and Brannen Brogger,Powell,Haynes,Muramatsu,Miyazawa,Sankyo, Yamaha. Also Altus,Allan,Sheridan,Rudall Carte,Flute Makers Guild, Pearl,Kingma and Simmons Flutes to name a few.As well as concert flute I regularly Repair and service Alto,Bass contra and sub-contra Bass flutes,Piccolos and the rare beast known as the G trouble i mean 'G' Treble a sort of Piccolo on steroids!With regular customers from all over Ireland I have also repaired flutes for players in Scotland England and Wales as well as Spain Italy and Sweden. Over the years I have done trade stands at a number of different flute events, including The British Flute Society convention at York in 2004, Flutewise workshops and Flute Band competitions including the Flute Band world Championships, carrying out on the spot repairs with Topwind of London, Europe's favourite Flute Specialist!
