..Luca RossiStudia etnomusicologia presso il Dipartimento di arte musica e spettacolo di Bologna. Apprende le tecniche dei tamburi a cornice e a calice dai maestri: Franco Faraldo,Marcello Colasurdo,David Kuckermann,Glen Velez, Fabio Tricomi, Arnaldo Vacca, Andrea Piccioni,Paolo Cimmino, Benham e Reza Samani,Micheal Metzler,Marzouk Mejri.Ha effettuato numerose collaborazioni con esponenti della scena musicale popolare campana,del jazz internazionale e compagnie di teatro danza(Taranta Power, Centro Nazionale Teatro, Tambours du Mediterrannèe, Kelvin Sholar, Marcello Colasurdo).Con l'Associazione "Danzemeticce" svolge attività di workshop sulla didattica e la ricerca relativa alla danza e ai tamburi a cornice nel contesto interculturale.E' endorser per il marchio Musiqua framedrums.
Ha partecipato a diversi festival nazionali e internazionali: El Jem 2005 (Tunisia), Mosaico Mediterraneo (Salento),Patras 2006(Grecia), San Patrick Chorus(Los Angeles),Concerto del 1 Maggio (Bologna,2006), Notte Bianca di Napoli(2007), Tamburo Mundi 2007 (Freiburg), Leuciana Festival 2007(Campania), Afroscopia2007(Bologna),Le Muse del Mediterraneo(Verona, 2008), Rassegna "Curtile 2008".
Con il gruppo Cathartica vince il Festival nazionale di musica etnica Terre in Moto 2006, e incide il disco "Purkiakos".

ian and author born in Campania, a region of south of Italy, where he grows up inside a strong musical tradition. He starts young to learn the different techniques about frame drums of the Mediterranean area. He follows the steps of a few of the best masters in the field as: Franco Faraldo, Glen Velez, Benaham Samani, David Kuckermann,Andrea Piccioni,Paolo Cimmino,Marzuk Mejeri, Arnaldo Vacca and many others.In the meantime he grows an intellectual interest of his homeland traditions and costumes, starting a profound research among the people and their rituals. In 2004 starts a collateral pathway in ethnomusicolgy at the departement of Art Music and Performance of Bologna. He is the creator of Cathartica Suoni Voci Danze del Mediterraneo, an etho-world music ensamble active all over Italy.He collaborated with numerous well known artists of the popular tradition, the ethno music avantguarde and the international jazz, as well as national dance-theatre companies. He's been invited to different festivals related to ethnic music and performing arts as: El Jem 2005 (Tunisia), Mosaico Mediterraneo (Salento), Patras 2006 (Greece), Leuciana Festival 2007(Campania).He is endorser for Musiqua Southern Italian framedrums.
