East Coast Kitchen Party is Atlantic Canada's "brand." It is the one term that anyone from the East Coast can relate to and reflect fondly upon. It is a lifestyle not just words.
East Coast Kitchen Party is the one phase that speaks to all generations. It is music, food and drink and quite often means home. The term also reflects the values many Atlantic Canadians hold.
A big hearty welcome to all. Make yourself at home and help yourself to whatever is in the kitchen.
The Feature Music!
The feature music around here is from our friends like Sean Kemp. Following the October 2007 release of his debut CD Moscow Madness, Sean Kemp was quickly nominated for an East Coast Music Award in February 2008 for best instrumental album.
Jon V.W. is "from away" but thought he is such a special performer, it would certainly be a good chance to take in his music. Jon is from Perth, Ontario and was co-founder of Audio Valley Recording Studio with Keith Glass of Prairie Oyster. His debut CD Love life to death was released in March 2008. If you love horses, you'll love "For a girl who rides horses"
A recent addition comes from Bette & Wallet. They have been busy with a tour of the Maritimes with a great new CD. Catch them if you have the opportunity.
And still more new music here comes from yet another 2008 East Coast Music Award Nominee, Catahoula Brown. Watch for more news on this guy and Let That Boy Boogie!
We're pleased to present a new single from Glen MacNeil, originally from Cape Breton. Scottish Mist is from an album scheduled for release as soon as Glen finishes recording in the studio.
For the first time, Babes for Breasts will tour New Brunswick and Nova Scotia in October as part of their efforts to raise funds for breast cancer research. Concert dates will be announced soon. Performers include Jessica Rahyne of New Brunswick and Newfoundland native Amy Campbell. The feature song here "The Spark" is from Babes for Breasts founder Ana Miura of Ottawa. Jess Clemmons and Amanda Rheaume will join Ana, Jessica and Amy for an incredible stage performance for a important cause!
Paul Ash is a Halifax comedian who put his spin on an East Coast Kitchen Party during an appearance on Just For Laughs. We got such a kick out if it, we wanted to pass it along and are pleased Paul dropped in to say hi.

Enjoy the rest of summer, we return in early September with our blog.
All music on this site has been uploaded with the express permission of the artist. Please feel free to drop by to promote your CD launch or special appearance or tour in Atlantic Canada.
We'd love to meet musicians, writers, cooks, and makers of fine goods from the East Coast of Canada. We love to hear from the fine music venues in Atlantic Canada, unique shops and destinations and festivals that combine to make an East Coast Kitchen Party!
We've had a big response from outside Atlantic Canada. While we appreciate the interest, please feel free to bookmark this page as a reference tool. The few artists featured here that live outside Atlantic Canada, maintain strong roots here and are simply "Going Down The Road" like so many before them. We'd also invite you to join our Facebook site that was just launched. It is open to everyone!
