Caleb Miles

Caleb Miles is me! I am a singer, songwriter, and guitarist currently residing in Bridgetown, Nova Scotia. I play lead guitar for The B’Town Blues Band (www.btownbluesband.com), and also perform solo and with The Caleb Miles Trio, an acoustic/electric outfit featuring Mark Bezanson on bass and Alex Porter on drums. The Caleb Miles Trio mixes original songs with eclectic covers by artists ranging from The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, and Frank Zappa to Funkadelic, Freddie King, and Grant Green, showcasing my singing as well as my guitar "artistry" (also known as "wanking"), with adventurous, jazz-steeped support from Mark and Alex. ************************************************************ *********** I moved to Nova Scotia from Portland, Oregon, in 2005. I started performing at the age of 15 when I joined Albuquerque’s Illegal Aliens in 1981, and played in many rockin' New Mexico bands throughout the 1980s and early 1990s (including F.O.R. and A Murder Of Crows). After living in Kentucky for a few years, I settled in Portland, managing a record store while playing guitar in several bands with Lewi Longmire and producing recordings for Kentucky Snakehandlers and many others... ************************************************************ *********** In 2003 I recorded DEPTH, a cd of "spontaneously composed" instrumentals. In 2006 I released BRICKYARD ROAD, a cd of original, roots-rock-folk-blues-country songs. (Both of these cds are available at cdbaby.com). I am currently working on an as-yet-untitled cd of new songs, expanding on the folky-bluesy-country material with some darker, pop-esque, quasi-jazz, avant-experimental stuff.
