ANA ARABI
OCCUPATION 101..I am a mixture of contrasts. Sometimes I'm filled with love and earthyness, sometimes I'm dark and introspective. I can be sophisticated or silly, depending on the moment. I'm usually compassionate with a great capacity for empathy, but I'm not perfect! "I am the one voice in the cold wind that whispers. If you listen, you'll hear me call across the sky, from my heart and soul, to your heart and soul." From an early age, Kayla started writing poetry which became a turning point in her life. She endeavored to develop her poetry to inspire. Kayla’s dreams and realities are written in poetry and lyrics. An accomplished poet as well as a talented photographer, Kayla is driven in everything she does. Going her own way, Kayla is not a rebel without a cause but a young woman determined to make her way into the listener's ear. Her poems can breathe of the deepest passion and tenderest affection, and at the same time exude her sense of loneliness and pain. Much of her writing is of a dark and haunting nature consisting of performance pieces which she has read at various poetry events. “I'm not sure why I write poetry or why I am so passionate about it. All I know is: I HAVE to, that I MUST!! The words come and I must write them down. If I didn't write something down that wanted to be written, I would feel something inside of me, desperately trying to get out.†Whatever her other accomplishments in life, Kayla’s passion was to establish her place as a poet. A sense of wonder at the marvels of love, life and sympathy for human need, are what characterize her poems, symbolizing a nostalgic vision. Throughout her poetry career, Kayla has had some of her work published such as: “Beggar on Belmont†and “Beloved Mother.†She has written lyrics for various artists, and is currently compiling a serious book of her poems, merging her words with her photography. Kayla is currently working on a Poetry C.D. with the ever so brilliant Christian St. Claire.
