“2008†I can’t even put into words how excited I am about the start of a new year. This year is sure to be one full of great success, exciting adventures and lots of happiness. It started off with a bang as I was given the honor of choreographing for Erin Hamilton for MasterBeat's New Years Eve Party at The Mayan in LA. Now, with a few new projects in the works, I'm off and running and ready to make the most out of this year. For many years I was content with being what they call a “triple threatâ€, but now I’ve come to realize how much I was selling myself short. This year keep your eyes and ears peeled, I will have my hands in more music, movies and television as well as audio/video editing and so much more. Working behind the scenes as well as out in front, I’ll going more public with skills and talents that for many years only a few of my closest friends have known I have. There are so many twists and turns in life; learning to lean into the turns is the key."Dream big, work hard and take pride in all of your accomplishments".
Thanks to all of you who have been so supportive and so amazing to me!!Peace, dantéSinger, songwriter, dancer, choreographer, model, and actor Danté has worked in practically every area of show business. “I don’t ever want to limit myself to just one thingâ€. Yet even though he wears many hats, he takes each job very serious. A dedicated professional, Danté is constantly pushing himself to learn more and try new things. Not very long after he was born in Kansas City, Missouri, Danté moved to California with his mother, his brother and two sisters. Growing up in Los Angeles, Danté's family- avid music lovers, exposed him to various styles of music, which he quickly grew to love. As a member of the family church’s young adult choir, Danté’s love for music and singing really began to flourish. Then came high school, and Danté discovered what would, for many years to follow, be his deepest passion- DANCE. Under the watchful eye of his mentor, Keny Long at Hollywood High School, Danté began learning the fundamentals of dance and it wasn’t long before he was performing on stage. After high school Danté was given a scholarship to the California Institute of the Arts, which he attended for one year. During this year he studied ballet and modern intensely. Being primarily a jazz dancer, this year of perfecting his craft proved to be a hefty challenge. A hefty challenge that eventually paid off quite well. In the early 90’s, Danté went out on his first dance audition. Not only did he beat out over 500 other dancers to land a spot as one of Debbie Allen’s Academy Awards dancers, he also impressed Ms. Allen enough that she hired him to assist her for 2 more years after that. From there things really began to take off. As a dancer, Danté went on to perform with many of the great artist of our time: Michael Jackson, Barry White, Whitney Houston, and Mary J Blige to name a few. It wasn’t long before he was also being flown off to distant countries as a model, even being photographed by the late, great Mr. Herb Ritts for a Levi’s campaign. Turning to the big screen, Danté found himself in numerous dance roles. Then finally landing a small acting/ dancing role along side Robin Williams and Nathan Lane in “The Birdcageâ€. Eventually turning his attention back to his true love, music, it was off to Tokyo as the singer for a small but extremely popular show called J Men. In Tokyo, Danté quickly became popular with Japanese audiences and eventually recorded two CD Singles. The first single “Watchagonnadoâ€, a no.1 club hit, debuted on the CD Groove (Top 40) charts at no.19 and made it’s way as far as no.5. Choreographing for himself and his dancers for club appearances around Japan eventually open the doors for Danté as the choreographer various other stage shows, music concerts and commercials there as well. Working as the final choreographer of J Men and now the new show “Iconâ€, Danté travels to Tokyo at least twice a year to stage new shows. Back home in Los Angeles, Danté has choreographed for Deborah Cox, Kristine W, Debby Holiday, and Inaya Day as well as done choreography for various events and charities. As an assistant choreographer, he’s worked on projects for Shaggy feat. Janet Jackson, Nike and Diesel Jeans. As the newest addition to the Trio Talent Agency Choreography Division, Danté was recently asked to choreograph both the jazz and hip hop combinations at the agency’s new talent audition. The combos were a big success.Whether he’s dancing/ choreographing for one of today’s biggest stars, on stage performing one of his own hot tracks, or posing for a magazine cover, people everywhere are raving about the multi-talents of Danté.
