About Me

My name is Karen I am 40 and a single mom. You have probably noticed the numerous banners from Autisticliving.com that is because my beautiful daughter is high-functioning austistic. Together we have fun, but our world can be lonely as most people don't understand autism and treat my daughter like she has leprosy. Autism is not contagious. My daughter is the light of my life and I do hear I love you from her. Her speech is what is mostly affected she speaks at a 5-6 year olds level, she is progressing more in that area, we can now have conversations, I want you to remember that the next time you hear your self saying "She/he won't stop talking" about your child, be thankful that your child can have a conversation with you.
