Hello and welcome to my page. Thank you for visiting, taking a look around and listening to the music. Please feel free to leave your comments and questions, if you have any. I look forward to meeting you and corresponding with you. Most of all, I hope there is something in my music that you can make a connection with. Enjoy!!!
Also, as a note, please visit my two other myspace pages documenting past projects I have been involved in over the years: The Changing (1988-1992) mysapce.com/thechanging8892 & Green Post (1992-1994): myspace.com/thegreenpost. I have recently been making pages for a number of former projects that never really saw the light of day in the past, largely because the internet and places such as myspace were not yet in existence. It is my pleasure to share these parts of my musical past with everyone. And, if you like, please add these pages to your friend space.
I don't have any formal training on the guitar, I play by ear. I've always enjoyed using plenty of effects to create a keyboard type of sound with the guitar, for me this is just more interesting. My taste in music also tends to lean toward instrumental music, soundtracks and the like. In fact, I wouldn't mind doing soundtracks for film/visuals, even art exhibitions are great for me. My style of playing is good for putting on in the background while doing something else, it doesn't interfere. I guess one thing I like best about playing instrumental music, while being a solo artist at the same time, is that I don't have to cater to any particular style or genre. That's not to say that I don't have my favorite sounds or habits; it's nice not being pinned down by a certain scene or fad. Just the same, working solo can sometimes be frustrating, especially when there is a creative block and ideas become few and far between. So, I'm open to working with other individuals as well as bands, groups etc.
This February (2008), I'm happy to announce that I will be releasing my debut solo album, which is pictured just below. There will be 9 tracks and it's all instrumental guitar. I will be holding a CD release party/performance at Rhythmix Cultural Works on Thursday, March 20th at 8pm in Alameda. For more information on the venue, please visit rhythmix.org. I will be performing tracks from the album as well as some new pieces that I have been working on. I welcome any and all who may be interested, admission to the event is FREE!!! I would love to see you there. And, if you like, you can pick up a copy of the album. I look forward to seeing/meeting you all.
After the performance there will be a casual reception with drinks and hors d'oeuvres for those in attendance to enjoy.
In addition to my solo performance, there will also be an opening act, which is a related project I am working on called "Winter Thorn" with the artist and long-time friend and fellow musician Barry Tribuzio.
