World Music Artist and Improviser Vi An Diep captivates without: capturing you like a helpless cute animal, imprisoning you in a wall of sound like a fragile flower, and she wont use flailing arms dancing, enticing and grabbing you in............... No........... This music simply desires to evoke emotions and dreams from within us. As a listener you are invited graciously, unconditionally and joyfully encouraged to peek inside and feel something from this music. If you may?? Everyone experiences music in unique ways, it is all valid! Otherwise the music simply lingers as static sound without listeners using their hearts to hear the plights............ She is an artist who is all about the sounds which gives way to the imagination within all of us................... Vi An does not seek fame or fortune, recognition nor approval. Life in music is too short to waste on competitions and has no room for expectations galore! Her music and artistry stands alone on top of a peek, she tumbles and forms a gigantic snow ball and plows into the sea!? Haahahaha!............................................... No, her music is simply her inner voice, serenading life and cheering life on. Nothing more nothing less.. You are welcome to get to know the artist intimately as you get to know her music and thats it........... Vi An approaches the long zithers not so much as musical instruments but as "tools" which aid in her self expression. A direct relationship between her and the "tools" are forged and together they become her voice. She has a poor singing voice is why! She strives for more versatility while developing her skills and constantly seeking out new opportunities to freedom, and always open to more possibilities. Collaboration is becoming priority lately, so bring on the ideas!! Alas, Vi An respects and honors the origin, and the history from which each long zither came from, however she devotes herself to creating new and original improvisations, spontaneously with no regrets. A sort of free verse poem with intense imagery and colorful tones one would say!!??! What she lacks in classical training, she makes up for and overcomes through her self taught skills and techniques which she picks up a long the way while working with so many amazing artists! The music of her imagery, enjoy it as it sounds. If you are lead by your heart or if you are lead by your mind, know that every soul is capable of feeling love from the strum of a single string.................................................
