C’est ma passion pour le Didgeridoo et la flûte harmonique mais aussi l’insatisfaction à trouver des instruments plus en harmonie avec ma philosophie qui m’ont amené à créer mes instruments moi-même. Ayant plus d’affinités avec les bois indigènes issus de ma région du Sud de l’Alsace qu’avec les Didgeridoos importés d’Australie et d’Indonésie, les différentes essences de bois de ma terre natale me permettent de créer des instruments aux qualités et aux sons très différents. Mes Didgerdidoos, contrairement à ceux fabriqués par de nombreux Didgimakers, ne pas coupés en deux parties, évidés à la gouge pour enfin êtres recollés chimiquement.. Au fil des années j’ai développé une technique qui me permet de percer mes instruments qui gardent ainsi leur structure extérieure intacte. Les molécules du bois restent entières, elles ne sont pas séparées par un trait de scie, ce qui me paraît important car le Didgeridoo est un instrument de musique nature ! Mes Didgeridoos sont uniquement enduits d’huiles biologiques ou de pigments naturels ce qui permet au bois de respirer et d’être très hygiénique. Mes flûtes harmoniques sont issues de forêts d’altitudes ou le sureau (Sambucus nigra) pousse lentement ce qui permet d’obtenir des qualités sonores qui n’ont rien à voir avec les flûtes en plastiques ou en cuivre. Et bien sur, là aussi tout est fait artisanalement sans colle. La perce et la longueur de la flûte est conçue selon l’harmonie du son que je veux obtenir et chaque instrument est unique car il n’est pas fabriqué sur un tour à bois. ------------------------------------------------------------ ----------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ ----------------------------- It is not only my passion for the Didgeridoos and the overtone flute that brought me to create my own instruments but also my frustrations not to be able to find instruments closer to my philosophy. Because I have more affinities with the type of woods found in my own region, southern Alsace, than with the ones imported from Australia or Indonesia, the different woods of my native land allow me to create instruments of many different qualities and sounds. Contrary to those manufactured by Didgimakers , they are not cut in two parts, and hollowed out mechanically to be, then glued back chemically… Within the years I have developed a technique which allows me to drill my instruments keeping their outside structure intact. The wood molecules stays whole, they are not divided by a saw split, this is important,the didgeridoo being a very natural musical instrument. . My instruments are only oiled with natural organic oils or with natural pigments which allow the wood to breathe and stay healthy. My overtone flutes come from high altitude forests, such as the elder (Sambucus Nigra) that grows slowly which gives me sound waves that have nothing to do with the sound of plastic or copper flutes. Of course, all this is crafted without any glue. The hollowing and the length of the overtone flute is relative to the harmony of the sound we want to create and each instrument is unique as it’s not crafted on a wood’s wheel.
