About Me

I am a keyboard player and composer from Southern California. Although my newer music is more jazz based, earlier recording projects of mine were written and performed in a more "new age" kind of context. Instrumental tunes were weaved together into an enchanted soundscape of ambient synths, occasional guitar and ethnic percussion. As a developing musician, I became proficient in a number of genres from classical to rock, which is why my albums display such diversity. Working as a church organist for 33 years honed my ability to accompany choirs and singers, but a number of rock and country bands counterbalanced that by helping me develop a very upbeat and, hopefully, interesting style. Although other John Pedersen My Space Profiles were created to showcase my more jazzy leanings, this profile was created to focus attention on the more ambient and downtempo side of my musical personality.
