About Me

New Album "STREAM OF CONCRETE" official release August 2008!
"One of the most inventive writers and solid performers coming out of Boston today. Makes me proud to be one." --Vance Gilbert
"Infuses contemporary singer/songwriter with traditional folk vibe...It’s no wonder she’s being recognized in her genre." --Soundcheck Magazine
Singer/songwriter Teresa Storch is constantly moving, either on stage or in her Pontiac Vibe. She has been releasing albums and touring nationally since 2003, spreading her funky-soulful folk throughout the country. She’s now known as a voice and presence not to be missed, with a passion you feel from the audience and a connection like she’s known you forever. She’ll draw you in with her rich, engaging voice, rhythmic, percussive guitar and writing that has roots in folk, jazz and blues--pulling stories from real-life and taking snapshots of what matters most.
Now residing in Boston, she got her start doing Denver area open mics after obtaining an engineering degree from the Colorado School of Mines and performing regularly with the Boulder Ballet. She has since been recognized for her writing and performance by Susquehanna Music and Arts Festival 2005, Flat Rock Music Festival 2005, Rocky Mountain Folks Festival 2003, and Boston’s Best Singer/Songwriters Showcase 2003. With two EP releases under her belt, "Muscle Memory" and "’Live’ For Now", her first full-length studio album "Stream of Concrete" will be released August 2008!
The unofficial ’in my own words’ bio:
In my life I might have built this site, fabricated the computer chips inside your laptop, made the laser printer you use or choreographed a ballet about the MySpace phenomenon. Instead I decided write and sing songs. Oh, and play guitar. So how did I get here? I grew up in Omaha, NE and became addicted to performing at age 3 after my first dance recital. In college I still danced and gained another addiction, seeing live music. For some reason I studied Engineering Physics at the Colorado School of Mines. I’m told I have a masochistic streak. The best part was the school is next door to Red Rocks Amphitheatre, which became my home away from home in the summertime. I saw everything from The Chieftains to Pearl Jam, Ani to Neil Young. One day I sat there (it was Lyle Lovett) and actually enunciated what the voice in my head had been saying,"I want to do THAT". So, I started listening to it. Songs and lessons and moving to Boston ensued, and that voice never shut up. Now I’m here amongst some of the most amazing musicians in the world, and privileged to call them my friends. It’s quite the adventure and I must say I love my life!
