Gently, Like Water, Cracking Stone

About Me

The poetry blends with the musicians present - not exactly free form but free flowing..................................................... ................................ ............................................................ .................................. ..................Now bi-coastal Tim spends half his time in Boston, managing the bookings for Club Passim (no don't ask for a gig here) and working with the very hip web based business platform for professional independent musicians, Nimbit (check it out in the "Top 8") and trying to keep up with his teenage daughter Ruby. (who just happens to be the coolest kid on the planet) ............................................................ ........................ ............................................................ ......................................................The balance of his time is spent in the East Bay getting to know the West Coast scene and working with Shannon Flattery on her innovative community buliding arts and oral history project TOUCHABLE STORIES, now associated with UC Berkeley and based in Richmond CA, visit www.touchablestories.org for the scoop on this. Its very cool ............................................................ ........................ ............................................................ ......................................................Whiche ver coast he hangs his hat on the poetry is what keeps it together.

Sounds Like: Poetry.... but let others tell you.....................==================================== =========================== ============================================================ ===let me give you some adjectives to describe Masons performance riveting, provoking, illuminating, funny, worldly, heavenly, hunger-creating. ------------------------------------------------------------ -----------------------------------------------------.Honest ly, when Timothy began speaking, I thought he was introducing the poem to the audience. But then I realized that he was performing the poem. It was seamless.. ------------------------------------------------------------ -----------------------------------------------------.Masons half-hour Tupelo set flew by. The audience really listened; they were quiet and respectful. They laughed at the funny lines. They applauded during and after the performance, and we all knew we had just experienced something unique and meaningful..------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ----- .Theres a difference between writing poetry and being a poet. Lots of people write poetry, but there are only a handful of real poets.... Mason is a real poet who performs in a conversational, touching and engaging manner. His poetry has the cadence and timing of a song ... and, if you close your eyes, you can truly hear the music. ............................................................ ............ - Bruce Bressack - Hippo Press Manchester NH========================================================== ===== ============================================================ ===His lines come like heat-seeking missiles, laced with street smart humor and insight. ------------------------------------------------------------ -----------------------------------------------------"His work is lovingly confrontational, pulsing with populist passion, sharp humor and inviting idealism.".................................................. ..-The Boston Globe ============================================================ === ============================================================ ==="His insight is genuinely hip because it is accessible. And sensible. And kind." ................................................ ~ Barry Crimmins, Social Satirist==================================================== =========== ============================================================ ===Check it out for yourself www.timothydmason.comand take some home at http://www.cdfreedom.com/timmason=========================== ====================================Here is poem recorded for the Touchable Stories Richmond Exhibit running Nov 9 thru Dec 15 2007======================================================== =======Old School - MA College of Art 1991
