“Mesmerizing.â€
“I couldn’t take my eyes off you.â€
“You are so much fun to watch!â€
“It’s almost like you’re dancing on the drums...â€
Jennifer "JJ" Jones began playing drums and guitar at age 14 while attending a private school for the arts in Seattle. During her career she has been the drummer and arranger/producer for a multitude of bands and studio projects covering a variety of styles, including funk-blues, instrumental jam, alternative rock, power-pop, honky-tonk country and, most recently and primarily, acoustic-folk.
Currently relocated to Fort Collins, Colorado to play with the band Driftwood Fire , JJ also plays and records with nationally touring singer/songwriters Ellis , Edie Carey , Martine Locke , and Emily White . She has also played with Vance Gilbert, Patrice Pike, Tret Fure, Anne Heaton and Julie Loyd, among many others. In June 2008, JJ played with six different acts at the prestigious National Women's Music Festival, three of which were main-stage headliners. This last year saw JJ co-producing albums for Driftwood Fire and Emily White, and focusing on collaborations with songwriters on arrangements and structuring.
A sensitive and expressive player, JJ specializes in finding the just the right rhythmic feel, touch and dynamics to bring out the inherent beauty of a song.
