Songwriters Lynn Scharf and Charlotte Formichella began collaborating together in 2005 after meeting while attending college in Virginia. Performing as Driftwood Fire in 2007, their song Appalachian Hills won First Place in the 2007 International Narrative Song Competition, and their song Georgia Avenue was licensed for use on QuickStar's nationally distributed 'Chill Out: Acoustic Compilation.' Both Lynn and Charlotte were top finalists in Denver's Blue Note 2007 singer/songwriter contest.
The band has now expanded to include folk-rock drummer & percussionist Jennifer "JJ" Jones (Ellis, Edie Carey). JJ is featured on Driftwood Fire's new self-titled studio EP, released in June 2008.
This tight-playing, crowd-friendly ensemble is selling out 200+ seat venues in the Rocky Mountain Front Range region and gaining fans across the country playing at the prestigious National Women's Music Festival and the Midwest Acoustic Festival.
