BELLY DANCING SOPRANO - I LIVE TO PERFORM!

About Me

My interest in classical music began as school where I studied the violin and piano, and was a member of Goldsmiths' Youth Orchestra. I then went on to further my studies in opera at The Blackheath Conservatoire, followed by The City Lit and Morley Opera College. My teacher is Sally Silver and my coaches are Eileen Bendell for drama and Robyn Sevastos for vocal coaching
Roles have included Celia (Iolanthe), Annina (Ten Belles without a Ring), Edith (The Pirates of Penzance),Casilda (The Gondoliers) First Lady (Magic Flute), Lola (Caverlleria Rusticana), Flora (La Traviata), Kathie (The Student Prince), Frasquita (Carmen), Nella (Gianni Schicchi), Helene (La Belle Helene), Tuptim (The King and I), Bianca (Kiss me Kate) and Maria (West Side Story).
I am a regular performer in Abu Dhabi and Dubai with my partner John Innes which includes performances in hotels, shopping malls, restaurants and The British Embassy. We also gave a combined lecture and recital at the Zayed University for Women. Other engagements include the Italian Festa - Notte Di San Lorenzo, Aspettando Le Stelle.
I have performed at The Millennium Stadium in Cardiff alongside Katherine Jenkins and John Innes as well as at Headingley for the Leeds Rhinos and the Cricket Club.
I am the founding member of my group 'Belle Canto' - www.bellecanto.co.uk and have toured with the male vocal group 'Boheme ' - www.fmmedia.co.uk at theatre performances. I like to include dance movement to our performances and my favourites are belly dancing and salsa.
We have finished recording a charity C.D which we will sell at street performances and concerts, to raise money for breast cancer, which has had a big impact in my life. I am also a supporter of Cancer Research - ( www.cancerresearchuk.org )and have participated in 'The Race For Life' which was a wonderful experience
I am quite spritual and love doing Goddess card readings and generally reading or listening to anything spritual! I find Belly Dancing and Biodanza incredibley rewarding and great for your femininty, and the music is fantastic too! You never know I could set a trend for Belly Dancing Opera Singers!
If I had to sum myself up I'd say I was a 'Jack of all trades and a master of some'! I have lots of interests so I don't have enough time to dedicate 100% to all of them! I love learning new skills and exploring different avenues as it keeps my brain active!
