I am here for Friends

About Me

I was born at a very early age to a wonderful, Christian, hard-working couple. After graduating from High School, I joined the Air Force and was stationed in Zaragoza, Spain for my entire enlistment. After that I enrolled at SIU Carbondale for a degree in Applied Music; studying with Dr. Carol McClintock, William K. Taylor and Marjorie Lawrence and was fortunate enough to get to sing things like the tenor soloist in Mozart's Requiem and the part of Don Jose in Carmen; and the title character in Les Contes d'Hoffmann. I met my bride, Cheri, in the Marjorie Lawrence Opera Theatre... now we have four lovely children (all grown) Jeremy, Jon Bart, Pilar, and Simon. Pilar has given us four beautiful grand children. Life has been good to me in all ways at all levels and I try to stay active in the local theatre as a director and board member. I also have a limited number of voice students in my home studio and enjoy each of them tremendously. And, as a personal ad, I must hasten to say that I am the only vocal teacher in the area with NATS certification. I like Opera recordings and have many of them. I first fell in love with music by listening to some old lp recordings of Jazz and still pursue those too. Any of you reading this that would like an old friend, let me know.

We had a good run

Well, The Miracle Worker is now in the books. We finished in the black; but, more importantly, we had a very impressive dramatic achievement. I don't think I've done a show that taught me more about...
