Magnus Vigilius

I was born and raised in Copenhagen, Denmark. I was introduced to music by playing the euphonium (if you don´t know what kind of instrument it is... google it!) in the church brass band. I wanted to be a teacher though and started at University of Copenhagen studying Religion. However singing took over and at the age of 23 I started my vocal studies at The Royal Danish Academy.My professional debut was in 2001 performing in The Phantom of The Opera in Copenhagen. I went to live in London in 2003 for 2 years and there I mainly performed in Opera. Roles such as Alfredo "La Traviata", Faust "Faust", Arturo "Lucia di Lammermoor and in France Lyonel "Martha" and Aeneas "Dido & Aeneas".In august 2005 I returned to Copenhagen to work as an opera singer with the Royal Danish Opera for a year.Currently I am employed by Det Ny Teater in Copenhagen, appearing in the Disney version of "Beauty and the Beast". Future roles include: Houdini, "The Great Houdini" an opera written and directed by the Danish filmdirector Erik Clausen and the role of Roderick Usher "The fall of the house of Usher" an opera by the minimalistic American composer Philip Glass. Both operas will be performed by "Den Fynske Opera" in Denmark.
