About Me

Achieve balance in body, mind, and spirit with Balance Advanced Therapeutic Massage. Whether you choose to receive therapeutic massage for relaxation purposes or seek relief from acute or chronic soft tissue pain, Balance offers you an opportunity for positive therapeutic touch and provides a holistic compliment to your fitness needs.
Restorative benefits include reducing stress, promoting faster healing of acute and chronic soft tissue pain due to injury, reducing muscle spasm, improving posture, increasing flexibility, and enhancing overall athletic performance. Balance Advanced Therapeutic Massage can help you achieve these desired benefits.

I specialize in neuromuscular therapy (NMT) and structural bodywork, swedish, deep tissue therapy, and sports massage. My training also includes myofascial release(MFR), a gentle form of stretching that helps mobilize restricted soft tissue to reduce pain and improve its function.
My clients include the Carolina Ballet Theatre Professional Dance Company under the artistic direction of Hernan Justo in Greenville, SC, and the Southeastern School of Ballet in Columbia, SC. I have also had the pleasure of working with the Paul Taylor Dance Company (Taylor 2)from NYC and the California Guitar Trio, an internationally acclaimed music group. I am interested in working with individuals and organizations, e.g. healthcare professionals, schools, sports teams, performing artists, that want to incorporate therapeutic massage as a part of their overall healthcare.
Serving the upstate and midlands of South Carolina, Balance Advanced Therapeutic Massage specializes in delivering on-site, residential massage therapy services. Chair massage for corporate events, private parties, health fairs, and other group functions is also available. Call 864.201.1603 to schedule your appointment today!
Balance Advanced Therapeutic Massage is committed to excellence and maintains the high ethical standards codified by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) and the American Massage Therapy Association. I am state licensed in South Carolina and nationally certified in therapeutic massage and bodywork.
"Mark has been instrumental in this stage of my career as a professional ballet dancer. I depend on my body to be in perfect condition like an Olympic athlete. His professionalism and detailed notation of my specific issues and progression are reassuring that improvements can be reached. I am greatly appreciative and would recommend anyone to be in his care."
Anita Sun Pacylowski
Principal Dancer for the Carolina Ballet Theatre, Greenville, SC
"As a professional dancer, I was fortunate to meet Mark in my travels and had the great opportunity to work with him. As Mr.Taylor assesses people right away when he meets them by the way they carry themselves, I could tell alot from Mark. He is patient, never obtrusive, and always communicates to make sure the session is going well. I would recommend anyone in any vocation to go to Mark."
Alison Cook, Dancer
Paul Taylor Dance Company (Taylor 2)
"Mark's work is truly transforming and lasting. He brings much more than massage and stress relief to the table, as it is full of active awareness bringing a deeper level of release to the muscles. Through my years of extensive experience, I honestly believe Mark is one of the best bodyworkers in his field, and I am thrilled to be able to express how much he has helped me with my knowledge and needs of my extremely active body."
