Born 1962...grew up in West Virginia, living in NYC since 1989. Former professional modern dancer with Paul Taylor Dance Company, now I'm the rehearsal director for Taylor 2 (see also: www.ptdc.org) I live in Coney Island, right at the edge of the sea. Former Senior NY Critic for an online dance publication, and a Sagittarius.

My Interests

The raw Outdoors, writing, sailing and sailboats, dance, travel, coffee, world religions and mythologies, drumming. Oh, and politics...I read and endorse www.democraticunderground.

Music:

Many many types.... I love the Baroque composers a lot, as well as the Beethoven symphonies, lots of classic rock, the blues, many ethnic/world-music types, especially those strongly involving percussion.

Movies:

The Matrix Trilogy, Cohen Brothers' films, Noir and noir-remakes of mysteries, period films (ie The Libertine, Being Julia) anything having to do with Helena Bonhamm Carter or Denzel Washington, and ANY filmed adaptation of Shakespeare (ie Kurosawa's "Ran" or Ian McKellan's "Richard III",) all of the "-Qatsi" film trilogy, Baraka, The Shawshank Redemption (and any Tim Robbins flick,) Memento, Martin Scorcese's films, Microcosmos, Being John Malkovich, and on and on....

Television:

PBS, History Channel, Without a Trace, Law & Order, L&O Criminal Intent, progs on nature or animals, X-Files, Homicide: Life On The Street, House, lots of Comedy Central, The Simpsons, Seinfeld, The Sopranos

Books:

In Our Defense: The Bill of Rights In Action, Man And His Symbols (CG Jung), Sailing For Dummies, The Naked Ape (Desmond Morris), anything by George Orwell, Aldous Huxley, Emerson, or Joseph Campbell, Flow: The Psychology of Optimum Experience, The Mammoth Book of Historical Erotica, the dictionary/thesaurus
