What's the problem?
Kleenex, one of the most popular brands of tissue products in the world, contributes to the destruction of ancient forests. Its manufacturer, the Kimberly-Clark corporation, has been unwilling to improve its practices, continuing to rely on paper and pulp made from clearcut ancient forest including Canada’s Boreal forest. Kimberly-Clark clears these ancient forests, essential in fighting climate change and providing home to wildlife like caribou, wolves, eagles and bears, into products that are flushed down the toilet or thrown away.
what's the solution?
We want Kimberly-Clark to:
* Immediately stop purchasing virgin fibre from endangered forests
* Drastically increase the amount of recycled fibre that they use for all their tissue products including Kleenex brand toilet paper, facial tissue and napkins
* Only buy virgin fibre from Forest Stewardship Council eco-certified forests. The FSC is the only guarantee that forests are managed sustainably

You may have noticed lately the new Kleenex Let It Out tv commercials and massive PR campaign where folks stop to sit on a blue couch and share personal stories that make them 'cry' into some facial tissue. On Saturday, Kleenex and Kimberly-Clark got more than they bargained for when Kleercut activists arrived to Let It Out about the fact that they are making tissue from ancient forests during their New York City filming.
MAGNIFICENT ANCIENT FORESTS!!
Ancient forests that have been clearcut :(
Four activists chained themselves together inside Kimberly-Clark's Canadian headquarters. They were trying to get a meeting with the company to get it to stop destroying Canada's Boreal forests.
