I am a police officer who cares about the future of the world. I believe that an educated society will commit fewer crimes and overall, society will improve the better educated we are.I'm the co-founder and current President of the Book 'Em Foundation. We will host the 4th Annual Book 'Em Literacy event on October 20, 2007 in Waynesboro, Virginia.Book 'Em is a book fair with 50 or more authors present. You have the opportunity to meet them, talk to them and to purchase autographed books. Admission is FREE and this includes admission to the dozens of talks and workshops the authors will put on during the day. Lebanon, New Hampshire will host their 2nd Book 'Em on October 27, 2007 and Lumberton, North Carolina will host their first in the spring of 2008. As well, Charleston, South Carolina is planning to host their first Book ‘Em event sometime in 2008. The intent of Book 'Em is to highlight the connection between illiteracy/poor reading skills and crime rates.
