About Me

Due To Be Released January 15th-Mark Kearney's Twisted Obsession! Here's what people are saying....“A very dark and scary ride to aplace most of us will never see. Mark Kearney’s book is reminiscent ofim Thompson’s classic The Killer Inside Me and may, in fact, signal thebeginning of a new chapter in crime fiction: Virginia Noir. Read it.” ~ Peter Blauner,NY Times bestsellingauthor of “The Intruder and Slipping Into Darkness” “This suspense novel is a real pageturner that leaves you wanting more. Hopefully Kearney won’tdisappoint and we can look forward to a sequel in the nearfuture.” ~ TeresaGilliam,Assistant Library Director, Waynesboro, VA “One of the scariest books I haveever read. Mark Kearney managed something no one has in a long time, hecreeped me out. Not a bad thing, I just thought I was more jaded thanthat.” ~ Darla Cook, Assistant to NY Times# 1 best selling author Laurell K. HamiltonAn Excerpt From An Interview With NewsVirginian (By MICHAEL L. OWENS) The story starts with a gun and a policebadge. It quickly turns to a justified killing. From there, it’s amatter of over-the-edge obsession mixed with just a tinge of evil.“Twisted Obsession” - scheduled for a December release - is the firstforay into life as a professional author for Waynesboro Police OfficerMark Kearney. For years, he’s been known as the man in blue fronting Book ‘Em, a bookfair where literacy is used to end any shot youngsters have at a lifeof crime. He will have a few pre-release copies on hand during the nextBook ‘Em event on Oct. 20.The program, co-founded by Kearney in 2004, has even caught theattention of other East Coast police departments. After dealing withdozens and dozens of authors for his program, the local cop decided tosit at a computer and belt out his own yarn.“When I finally started meeting these authors, I realized these arereal people … who made the decision to sit down and write,” Kearneysaid. The end result is the 275-page world of Jay Mundie, a run-of-the millbeat cop with a wife and children in the small Virginia mountaincommunity of Cutler.
