I am sweet. That's what people say. Ha ha
I am grammatically challenged. I joined The Grammar Geeks hoping I will learn.
I hate when people open a conversation with the word "so". I don't like when people say, "you know" (if I know please don't tell me)
"It was surreal", is one of my all time pet peeve comments. Everything seems to be surreal these days. My entire life has been surreal. I like creative people who can express what is surreal about a topic.
I may not always be right, but I'm always blunt with my opinion. I don't sugar coat anything.
Drama Diva means exactly what it says; a goddess of scene. Every writer is a goddess or god of the worlds she/he creates. The writer is in control of characters, emotions, conflicts and settings.
I've never read Aldous Huxley's writings. Therefore, I'm not a fan. I also don't practice enlightment with drugs. However, I do like that quote and believe all good writers weave the known and unknown to create a perception. That is why I chose Huxley's quote for the heading.
I decided I would be a writer when I was in first grade. My first grade teacher was my first writing mentor. The students would sit at a semi round table to read and discuss books. The table was also for creative writing. My teacher would encourage us to use our imaginations. That was where Imagination Island began with me. Throughout my lifetime Imagination Island has been used in other educational settings where I have been the student and in settings where I have taught. After I chose my URL someone told me that Barney has an Imagination Island..good for that big purple dino!
People often ask me where I'm at in NY. I'm not in NY. Many times when I'm not in a focused mood I think of NYC (my favorite place) and I get into my creative zone. I live in NM.
Another question I get ask often is, "What do you do?" I do as little as possible. LOL Not really. I stay busy raising my grandchildren. I'm also a freelance writer and tutor. I realize this may not be as glamorous as other writing careers, but it pays the bills. Slowly, but steadily I'm working on a children's series. I don't mention it often because I haven't progressed far enough into the project to start spamming it. LOL
Another question many people have asked me since I joined my space is, "Why don't you blog?" The answer to that is, "I'm a natural born procrastinator. I probably thought of a blog topic, but before I reached the computer I saw something shiny and was distracted."
I nit pick when writing doesn't flow (if in doubt about what doesn't flow please see above), but there is no time for editing at the moment. I finally have something under the blurb known as, "About Me".
You Are 64% NYC
You are probably a real New Yorker, though there's a good chance you really live on Long Island.
