I'm a drummer and extremely proud to be sponsored by ELLIS DRUMS. Through the machinations of Conor at Ellis I got a deal now with Pearl as well. Thanks my friend!!! I get to play with who I want and in bands that constantly challenge me. This is the best situation to be in. The only shortage is time to do enough of all that I want.HARSH REALITY "LIVE" at the Suspension ExhibitonBehold the Miracle of Jesus!Yes I am tall, I am in fact a wee bit over 6 foot 2 (If I'm watching my posture), I am as my close aquaintances purport, obssesive about drums and practicing. I love it!!
I am the drummer for Harsh Reality , along with Autonomy, Kelly Nicole, and the Wolverines. (I was the drummer in the All the Pretty Horses. I am so fortunate to work with all of these people. I love to read and hang with friends at the local (privately owned) coffee shops.
I am, which is perhaps to some unique, a pre-op transsexual female. Which on occassion looms somewhat large in my daily experiences. Generally it's cool. After all the years I have been transgendered there is actually nothing new anyone can say to me. Just intermittently, the more negative comments become somewhat tiring.
I also am a street based outreach worker with Streetworks, for runaway/homeless youth. Streetworks is a collabrative of youth agencies in the Twincities. My agency is district 202, the GLBT community center in town. What we do is access service for youth under 22 to rent deposit, eviction prevention, Shelter, transitional living, job resources, medical, food shelfs, transportation and legal connections. Or just someone who doesn't judge them to talk with. My kids are all amazing people I luv ya all!

Like so many things in life, all to often we are to ready to jump to conclusions as to how something is without really knowing. Shame on us. It comes down to ,"if your uncomfortable with something either figure it out or move the "F" on.The amazing JOE MORELLO!!! I am inheritantly open minded yet to some extent set in my ways, though not irrevocably so. I relish the human contact element in life and am always in the mood for more. If you are a self serving, belligerent person who thinks that your perspective is the only one that is right and don't care for the diversity of the human condition, you have nothing worthy of my interest and I am sad for how you are wasting your life at the expense of others! Dumb Ass!!!

Harsh Reality, Wolverines Big Band and Wolverines Jazz Trio, Autonomy, Kelly Nicole, APOX currently and got some stuff in the shed for later. Reading. I vacillate between History, Social change and Fantasy ala Moorcock and the like. I also enjoy "the Theatre" Hedwig and the Angry Inch and Wicked are two that are most moving. I love Tommy as well. More for the connection with the experiences of seeing the Who live so many times during the Tommy era. The take on the songs are different yet like the original, very drum intensive. I loved it so much that I actually transcribed the drum parts note for note of the show off the recording. How's that for being obsessed?

Add to My Profile | More VideosTo This day, my favorite band. I remember when all this was happening. Thank you Beatles for inspiring me then and now. This is a great musician and she has the wisdom to have ME as her drummer!!
I am an amalgam of tastes. I am in part stolidy Old School I absolutely Love the Beatles. (It doesn't bother me if others don't). I grew up on the, Doors, Cream, Zepplin, Hendrix, the Who and Sabbath to name a few. I love the long hair stuff, a wide variety of Classical literature from Mozart thru Messian. My influences in music pretty much follow my inspiration of the drummer aspect. Miles Davis, Mahavishnu Orch. Don Ellis, along with a plethora of ""Big Bands" most paramount being Basie, Buddy Rich and Ellington. Being introduced to contemporary metal by All the Pretty Horses and Kelly Nicole, and recently with Harsh Reality I have come to find the drummers in this style are to some extent brilliant in such a wonderful and frustrating way. From Danny Carey to Derek Roddy, (locally John Gensmer of Epicurian and Josh of Vunerata, Nailed Shut and several more bands) have brought to my percussive life new and ongoing inspiration always presenting new approaches to embrace. I LOVE IT! Count Basie with Sonny Payne on drums.....great

Movies:

The first movie that I truely Loved was A Hard Days Night. This was in my formative years. The next two that have affected me and warped me to some extent was a double feature my parents took me to, the Lord of the Flies and Dr. Strangelove. As well as the Departed, Letters From Iwo Jima. Can't forget everyones favorite, Strange Days. I love Sci-Fi and Fantasy. I am in love with Vin Diesels, Riddick from "Pitch Black", "Dark Fury" and the "Chronicles of Riddick". Also I really am taken with the Deluxe edition of the Lord of the Rings. Also the numerous drum clinic instructional videos I have. I have an affinity for Captain Blood with Errol Flynn, (great broadsides). I love all the Sherlock Holmes movies with Basil Rathbone, (I love that name) and Nigel Bruce. The final nail in my coffin is I love the Three Stooges thru the Schemp and Curley years. It's a left over from my boy days.

Television:

The new Battlestar Galactica, The Soprano's, LOST, Twin Peaks, The Simpsons and Family Guy.

Books:

I love the Drangonce Lance series. Lord of the Rings, The Michael Moorcock series of the Eternal Champion, Elric of Melnibourne, Corum etc. Ancient Hisory/Greek, Phonecian era. Grants Biography, Drum instruction books, autobiographies of musicians and trans people to name a few!

Heroes:

Buddy Rich, Elliot Fine (my drum teacher), Chick Webb and almost any drummer. Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Salvatore Dali, My folks James/Pops and Mary Forberg, I love and owe them quite a bit. Rick Carlson, because he is the "Bastard". Those who choose to not let the ignorant hinder them in their search for personal truth and goals. And more than most, Lemmy from Motorhead, for way to many reason to list!
